Assistant Professor
Health Services and Outcomes Research, Children's Mercy Kansas City
I am currently a Research Faculty at Children's Mercy Kansas City in the Division of Health Services and Outcomes Research (HSOR), and an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at UMKC School of Medicine. My work is focused on the field of health informatics, where I explore the ways in which data mining, machine learning, and statistical techniques can aid practitioners and researchers in understanding, analyzing, evaluating, and synthesizing the wealth of health and wellness data now digitally available. Working closely with multidisciplinary teams, my work is fundamentally motivated by the potential of informatics to understand variability within patient conditions and outcomes. Ultimately seeking to identify evidenced-based risk factors and treatment patterns that can be used to better inform the quality and effectiveness of care.
